TLDR

Misfit Entrepreneur, hosted by Dave Lukas, pulls concrete lessons out of people who took a non-traditional path. So we kept this practical: how you speak to a customer, and how that speeds up the sale.

The core idea is simple and most people get it backward. Selling faster is not about talking more. It is about the buyer feeling understood.

Speak to the customer

Most marketing and most sales calls are about the seller. The features, the credentials, the process. The buyer does not care yet. They care whether you understand their problem.

People buy when they feel understood, not when they understand you. So lead with their situation. When you describe their problem better than they can, they assume you have the answer, and the whole conversation gets shorter.

Price for the problem

Speaking to the customer also changes what you can charge. A premium problem can carry a premium price. Most owners undercharge by about half while doing more work than they quoted, because they price off their time instead of the client's outcome.

Belief comes before price. Once you can name what the problem is costing the client over the next year, charging to solve it stops feeling like a stretch. I got into pricing and the money side on the Hailey Rowe podcast and Fox Talks Business.
